We have been able to get a good start to our project. We put our recycling bins up last week and they are ready to be used. This is relatively an easy project there was just nothing happening. We saw a need and filled it. The biggest struggle we had was time. We found it difficult to find time to set everything up with being busy with extra curricular activities. We finally got it done and are ready to see what happens with it. I learned that anything can happen if you let it. This was a lesson that taught me no matter how hard something is you can get it done.

Continuing on with our project we have decided to take our recycling in our self. This will still have a fee of $2 this is much better than the $25 a month for a pickup fee. All though this is not a steep price as students we won’t be able to cover it right now. Currently we are working on getting bins around the school for different recycling. This way we can finally get our idea on the way.
What is up guys? Welcome back to the blog. Today is October 13, 2017. So far, we have established an elevator pitch
(which can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-KlDT8S39Y0). We explained in more depth on what our project is about. Starting now, we are going out into the wilderness that is Northern Michigan, and our goal is to pair up with recycling agencies and get more bins in our school. Like I said before, we have realized how big of a problem a lack of recycling is, and we want to change that. I am passionate about recycling because it is a good way to make sure that we are taking care of the earth. I would like to see the way that just changing a few things in our school system could change the world. If you think about it like this, recycling one ring holder for pop cans could save 6 birds lives!
We could change the way our school recycles by encouraging recycling at our school. By simply putting boxes in the hallway and a bottle can in the student center. This way it becomes convenient and the only work it requires is picking the right box to use. |
